Resumen de la reunión del Comité Distrital de Idiomas del Mundo

Curriculum Notebooks have been updated by the District and the committee went through all the updates in each language to verify for accuracy. Needed additional edits have been sent to the District.

Committee discussed what is needed next to deepen the implementation and how the District can continue to support World Language curriculum. A summary of the items suggested has been sent to the District.

District Literacy (Secondary) Committee Meeting Summary

On April 16, the PCSD School Board approved the adoption of McGraw Hill’s StudySync as the curriculum for ELA classes in grades 6-12. As such, the Secondary ELA Committee met on April 22 to discuss plans for Phase 3 of the Curriculum Adoption Cycle. 6th-grade teachers on the Committee began digging into the program in order to brainstorm a pacing guide format, and 7th- through 12th-grade teachers discussed a procedure for approving novels for classroom use based on StudySync’s novel list. Both groups will continue this work in the summer.

Resumen de la reunión del Comité Distrital de Bellas Artes

Teachers from the Fine Arts Curriculum Review Cycle committee met for the final meeting of this school year on April 22, 2024. The meeting included:

• Exploration and discussion to obtain a clearer direction for Phase 2 in the 2024-2025 school year.
• An amendment to the Phase 1 document to include defining processes for various procedures, materials, resources, etc.
• Review and final analysis of the completed Phase 1 Summary Document, which is an assessment of the current instructional program of the fine arts in Provo City School District.
