Through the generous funding of Art Works for Kids, UVU and WSU are collaborating on a pilot project to address endorsement needs!
Led by artist and educator Korryn Coates, this course, Advanced Studio Work and 3D Design, will use ceramics and sculpture techniques to explore the Elements of Art and Principles of Design while developing advanced visual art skills and competencies in ceramics and sculpture for K-12 teachers. This pilot program will offer a Summer 2024 asynchronous + week-long intensive course for Advanced Studio Work and 3D Design (scholarships for travel and registration available)! This course does require a pre-requisite of Ceramics or Sculpture 1 (passed with a C or above or passed endorsement competency). USBE will be hosting a Ceramics/Sculpture 1 course in Spring that students can register for in MIDAS.
Delve into the fundamental understanding of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design crucial for creating three-dimensional compositions through ceramics and sculpture techniques. This course encompasses a wide array of materials and media, empowering students to apply critical, creative, and reflective thinking, both as a dynamic process and as a means of artistic expression. These 3-D design competencies will be harnessed to develop advanced visual art skills and proficiency in ceramics and sculpture. This course requires a pre-requisite of Ceramics 1 (coursework or passed endorsement competency).
