Elementary Administrators,

As you may recall, the state requires all elementary principals and APs to complete LETRS training *and* change management training. The first cohort is now organized and ready for registration (we have until 2027 to complete the 2-year training).

  1. To begin the process, each person must take this survey to place one on the correct training path; it takes about 20 minutes: this short survey

The following is USBE information about the schedule and has the contact for any questions you might have:

We would like to provide you with a few updates concerning the launch of USBE’s professional learning initiative Change Management for Leaders to Improve Literacy Outcomes.  Utah S.B. 127 requires each elementary principal, principal supervisor, LEA leader, and LEA literacy specialist to participate in this professional learning initiative by the summer of 2027.  Each cohort will receive training over two years.  

PL Session 1 – In-Person at Three Locations

June 6

  • Participants: Utah County (for leaders from Utah, Uintah, Carbon, Emery, Wayne, Grand, Juab, Garfield, Kane, Sanpete, and Grand counties)-Pathways A, B, C & D
  • Address:  Nebo School District Boardroom
  • Details: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (including an hour for lunch on your own)

June 9

  • Participants: Weber County (for leaders from Box Elder, Cache, Ogden, and Davis counties)-Pathways A, B, C & D
  • Address: Weber Innovations Training Room, 1007 W 12th St., Ogden, UT
  • Details: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (including an hour for lunch on your own)

June 14

  • Participants: Salt Lake City County (for leaders from Salt Lake, Toole, Summit, and Wasatch counties)-Pathways A, B, C & D 
  • Address: Granite District Auditorium D & E, 2500 S. State Street, Salt Lake City, UT
  • Details: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (including an hour for lunch on your own)

  • Details: 90 minutes virtual either the week of July 31 or Aug 7, at a time mutually agreed upon by your assigned small group after Session 2.
