Below is the 2017-2018 important Professional Development Dates. Please mark these dates in your calendar and plan accordingly.

Start Up Schedule

Monday, August 7

• Benefits Fair AND New Teacher Meetings

Tuesday, August 8- All Teachers Return

• Day 1:  4 hours School-directed, 4 hours Teacher-directed
  • AM: School Business Meeting
  • PM: Teacher-directed preparation

Wednesday, August 9

• Day 2:  8 hours District-directed
  • AM: District-directed teacher preparation
  • PM: District-directed, school-based PD (Extension of summer VL PD)

Thursday, August 10

• Day 3:  8 hours District-directed
  • 8:00-10:30: District Kick-off at THS
  • 10:45-12:00: Grade level & content area collaboration meetings
  • 12:00-1:15 Lunch break
  • 1:15-3:15: District PD (courses, book studies, & lecture series)

Friday, August 11

• Day 4:  4 hours School-directed, 4 hours Teacher-directed
  • AM: School-directed professional development
  • PM: Teacher-directed preparation

Monday, August 14

• Day 5:  (1st day of contract) 8 hours Teacher-directed
  • AM & PM: Teacher-directed preparation

Tuesday, August 15

• Classwork begins

  • 1st year target language teachers attend Aug 7-10
  • 2nd year target language teachers attend Aug 8-11

Optional, Recommended Training

• Aug 11, 2017 All 6th grade target language teachers Science mtg
  • Note: 3rd+ year target language teachers, who have attended 2 AUDII conferences, are not required to attend AUDII again
• Aug 9-10, 2017 1st year English language DLI partner teachers
  • Note: English language DLI partner teachers who have attended an AUDII conference are not required to attend AUDII again
