The Teaching and Learning Department is hosting a “Mission To Mars” workshop with Dr. Shumway on Thursday, March 29, 4-7 pm at the Grandview Learning Center. This engineering design learning unit is related to 6th Grade SEEd standards. It has been designed to accompany (parallel activity) the following science activities:

  • Space exploration, gravity, structure and motion within the solar system
  • Newton’s laws of forces and motion
  • Introduce the engineering design process to students

Supplies for this learning unit will be provided for schools that have teachers attend. The Teaching and Learning Department also has rocket launchers available for easy check out. Dinner will be provided and each teacher that attends will receive a $25 gift card for attending.
