Primal Forces: Earth
While quilts often evoke a sense of comfort, warmth, and safety, we rarely consider the forceful processes required to create them. Like the actions that form and re-form our planet, quilts are created through brutal means—in the case of a quilt, material is cut or torn, pinned, pierced by needle and thread, worked, and reworked by the artist until an aesthetic object is formed. Primal Forces: Earth explores both the inherent and human-mediated forces that impact the earth on which we live, all through the medium of textiles. Come learn how art quilts can be used in cross-curricular lessons adaptable for different grades!
- Registration closes at midnight on October 11, 2023.
- 1 Evening + Survey = 3 relicensure points
- 5 Evenings + Surveys + 1 Field Test = 1 semester credit. Must be in the same school year.
