The District Literacy Committee met on September 18th. In the meeting we:

  • Reviewed the Curriculum Review Policy and Procedures (4020) to ensure all participants understand the 3 phases of curriculum review
  • Became familiar with the scope of Phase 2
  • Reviewed the Needs Assessment document produced by last year’s committee members in Phase 1
  • Began developing rubric categories that should be represented in the rubric we will create at the next meeting

Before the October 16 meeting, committee members should:

  • Complete their annotation of the Needs Assessment document, identifying possible categories for the rubric
  • Share the committee work and findings with grade level/department teacher colleagues
  • Collect feedback, questions, and comments from those colleagues
  • Share any rubric examples with Tani Brown by October 9
