In the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity, your first line of defense is a strong password. Regularly updating and fortifying your passwords significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access. Consider these two tips to enhance your password security:
If it’s been awhile since you’ve changed your password, consider starting this year with a new password. Changing your password to something new helps thwart potential security threats by keeping your credentials fresh and resilient. The Help Desk and any of our field techs can help you change your password easily.
Consider using a passphrase (a sequence of random words or a sentence) as an alternative to traditional passwords. Passphrases are easier to remember, yet highly secure. Aim for length and avoid easily guessable combinations. Passwords or passphrases with 14 or more characters should be the goal.
Remember, the security of our digital accounts is a shared responsibility. By adopting these practices, you contribute to the overall resilience of our cybersecurity defenses.
