Intermountain Intertribal Indian School (Intermountain), in Brigham City, Utah, started in 1950 as a boarding school for students from the Navajo Nation located in the Four Corners region of the United States. In 1974, Intermountain opened to all Native American students, with up to 100 tribes represented. Intermountain closed in 1984.
The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, Utah State University, has restored the murals that once adorned the dormitory and public walls at Intermountain. These vibrant artworks were not the product of professional artists, but of the students themselves. Given paint and permission from their teachers, these young individuals created images that represented their concept of home. Registration closes at 11:59 pm on January 21st, 2025.
(Feedback surveys will be emailed after each event and then points will be added to MIDAS upon completion.)
