District Fine Arts Committee

The District Fine Arts Committee met on March 25, 2024.

  1. The committee reviewed the Phase 1 Summary Document and agreed to add a placeholder section for Copyright Laws, to educate and protect our fine arts educators.
  2. The committee did a deep dive into the Phase 2 Curriculum/Materials document. We discussed what is exciting about moving forward, what causes worry, what information is still needed, and suggestions we have for moving forward.
  3. We looked at templates to house an overview of the different art forms in the district, to create a similar “front-facing” document, and discussed content to go in these.

Secondary ELA Committee

The Secondary ELA Committee met on March 25 to discuss their evaluation of 2 programs:

  • HMH’s Into Literature
  • McGraw Hill’s StudySync

The Committee analyzed data from the community member open house, grade-level meeting teacher surveys, and their evaluation rubrics and will be moving forward with a recommendation. The Committee also discussed the need for classroom sets of hardbound textbooks vs. student consumable editions. Each school will decide if they will use hardbound or consumable books. District World Languages Committee

The District World Languages Committee met Monday, March 25, 2024

  • DWLC committee members finalized a list of recommended sites and resources to be included in the World Language Curriculum Notebooks
  • Committee members debriefed about last week’s PD, which was held in language groups. The committee believes that it was a very useful PD format and would like to follow this format again in the future
