Sticky Thinking helps students document their thinking as they read. To use this strategy, give students a specific purpose or prompt as they read. Students track their thinking on sticky notes and post them directly on the pages they are reading.
Rosetta Stone stories are a great way for students to practice listening and reading out loud. You can also download reading comprehension questions to go with each story. To get to stories on Rosetta Stone, students will click Explore All Content on the learning home page. Stories are aligned with the units they work on in the Rosetta Stone program.
Each unit in Bridges has 4 projects that go with other subjects: Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies. The projects all have some research, a written component, and a presentation portion. These could be a fun way for students to connect what they’re learning in ELD with their other classes!
The ESL Endorsement course is now open. All ELD teachers who are not endorsed should work with their principals to get started.
