This year’s 2021 Bennion Teachers’ Workshop entitled “Hidden in the Shadows of Democracy: Engaging & Teaching the Strength of Race & Difference.” Dr. Marisela Martinez-Cola, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Utah State University, will direct the workshop and will be joined by specialists to explore the ways to transform hard conversations about racism and difference into meaningful action.
This will not be just another “diversity” workshop. The goal of this workshop is to deliver practical material for teachers and administrators alike to incorporate in their classrooms and institutions.
By the end of the workshop participants will learn how to:
Dates: Monday, June 21 – Friday, June 25, 2021
Place: Dynamic Online Classroom originating from Utah State University
Credit: The workshop may be taken for either academic credit or continuing education units (see the Mountain West Center website www.mountainwest.usu.edu for prices, discounts, and scholarship opportunities).
