Each year the Brigham Young Chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers sponsors an essay/creative project contest to encourage study of Utah pioneers. This program invites fourth-grade students to write an essay or create a project concerning an incident in the life of one of their pioneer ancestors, or an incident or feature of early Utah history.
