You’ve probably seen our district techs around your school lately, maybe looking a little harried and rushed. Next time you see a tech, give them a high five and a well deserved “thanks”! They have had a busy summer and still have an impressive to-do list.
Our district techs have been installing security cameras, labs, access controls as well as many other technology related tasks associated with getting Provo High and Provost up and running. This is on top of all their normal summer activities such as rotating out old devices, getting new teacher devices and training employees on new technology.
The entire department has pitched in to stay on top of an impressive to-do list but with school back in session and teachers beginning to make technology work order requests, it is getting more difficult to keep up. There are 590 open work orders right now, almost twice as many as last year at this time. Chad Duncan, our technology director, would like to thank you for following the proper work order procedure and ask you for your patience during this busy time. The technology department is dedicated to serving teacher’s technology needs and serving them quickly. They recognize that teachers are dependent on their technology to teach and are doing everything in their power to get to each work order in a timely manner.
