Dear High School Science Educators and Specialists,

Development continues and we are looking for 12 educators to work with us virtually and write new clusters for the Utah Aspire Plus summative assessment.

The Utah Aspire Plus assessments include both ACT Aspire and Utah items. We are entering the stage in which we will refresh the Utah bank of items with new development. The primary goal of the Science Cluster Writer Workshop is to provide a supportive environment for Utah Educators to gain facility in writing content to match the standards and item specifications. During this effort, Educators will receive cluster writing training and have an opportunity to work with a mentor from Pearson. Clusters written during this effort may be developed and field-tested on the 2022 spring summative Utah Aspire Plus assessment.

The Science Cluster Writing Workshop for 2020 will consist of a series of virtual training and independent assignments. The schedule is outlined below:

Following the completion of the 3 two-hour pieces of training (highlighted green) and 7 writer tasks (highlighted grey), you will receive an honorarium in the amount of $600. You must successfully complete all 10 tasks to eligible for the honorarium. We anticipate this will take a total of 28 hours or just over 3 days spread out over a few months.

To sign up for this opportunity, please fill out the following survey.
