RISE Science Assessment Development Opportunity

We have an upcoming item development workshop for the RISE Science assessments for grades 4-8. Please find details about the development opportunity below. If you are interested, please complete the survey. Workshop participants will receive a $150/day stipend, 8 relicensure points/day, plus travel reimbursement. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Lodging will be provided for those living more than 50 miles from the workshop location. Please feel free to forward this to any science educators that you feel would be interested. Depending on the number of responses to the survey, we hope to begin contacting people next week, if you do not hear from us, you were not selected for this workshop.

Science Rubric Validation Workshop

Educators will have the opportunity to review student responses on the field-tested clusters and make recommendations regarding the scoring logic and scoring assertion text. Are the responses being scored as we intend?

• Dates: Wednesday June 8, 2022, and Thursday June 9, 2022*
  • *The grades 6-8 group will only meet June 8.
• Location: TBD (looking at the Salt Lake City, Provo, or Park City areas). This workshop will be in-person.
• Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day (Breakfast at 8:00 AM, Workshop begins at 8:30 AM)
