Required Suicide Prevention Courses

The USBE requires 2 hours of suicide prevention training for active educators. (Utah Code 53 A-1-603 #10) ALL EDUCATORS renewing their Professional License are required to complete a 2-hour suicide prevention training. One LEA sponsored 2-hour suicide prevention class must be completed each license cycle.

Provo City School District’s Suicide Prevention Class provides training and understanding of the nature of youth suicide; risk and protective factors; warning signs and clues; and appropriate intervention steps. Successful completion of this training will fulfill the USBE requirement Utah Code 53 A-1-603 #10.

These classes will be held face-to-face, masks required. There will be 6 sessions that you can choose from. All 6 sessions will be held at the Grandview Technology Center (GTC) and will be limited to 24 people each session. Trainings will be held from 3:30 to 5:30. Please sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot in the training. Face masks are required.
