As I have visited with teachers, students, and parents across the district over the past few months, I have been repeatedly asked for two things:

  1. Clear expectations/consistency for digital learning
  2. A vision for the use of technology in our classrooms

To help answer this call, we are excited to offer paid workshops throughout the month of June. In these workshops, we will explore what flexible learning looks like post-pandemic, using Canvas to create differentiated learning environments to use in the classroom.

For elementary teachers, this will be a chance to gain confidence in the new Canvas for Elementary interface. All teachers will have the opportunity to experiment with how district-approved curricula and other technologies are integrated directly into Canvas, creating one seamless learning environment. Time will be provided to build your digital environment in Canvas.

You will also learn about the district Canvas style guide, which outlines basic expectations for your digital classroom, and new design tools that we have integrated in Canvas. The style guide will go into effect Fall 2023, giving you a year to learn and prepare with our support.

The workshops are differentiated for different groups – PK-3, 4th-6th, DLI, and Secondary. If you cannot attend during the week(s) designated for your group, you can choose another week and we will ensure your needs are met. Register for the week that works best for you.
