Are you a Classified employee, hired prior to July 1, 2015? If so you must be re-fingerprinted!

In accordance with Utah State Code 53A-15-1503, all classified employees of Provo City School District must submit to a nationwide criminal background check for ongoing monitoring. As of July 1, 2015, we implemented this practice for all new hires of Provo City School District. However, we are now tasked with the process of requiring all classified employees hired prior to July 1, 2015, to submit to the background check, for ongoing monitoring.

In an effort to complete this task in an organized fashion, we have scheduled weekly time slots, according to location. If you fit the criteria of needing to be re-fingerprinted, please watch for further information regarding your specific time. Due to HR staffing, we prefer employees do so during the hours of 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, however, we are happy to accommodate, if needed.

Provo City School District is charged $40.00 for each employee’s fingerprint submission, monitored by Bureau Criminal Identification (BCI), which in past practice, employees have been required of to pay. Through collaboration with Provo Education Support Professionals Association (PESP), they have agreed to cover this cost for all current employees whom must comply with the updated background check requirement. Many thanks to the Provo Education Support Professionals Association for financing the $40 re-fingerprinting charge with negotiated funds. Your continued support of the PESP association is needed and appreciated.

As you can imagine, this task will continue to require a great deal of collaboration. Thank you in advance for your support and a huge thank you to our PESP Association for their generosity!
