Phishing – An attack that where hackers trick you with a fraudulent email, website, or ad to steal confidential information like credit card numbers and passwords.
We’re writing to you today to inform you of the increase and on-going cyber-crime of phishing attacks, especially during the holiday season. Threat actors have been sending emails claiming to give you the greatest holidays deals as well as pretending to be approved retirement and pension specialists.
Please take an extra second to check who is contacting you and what they are asking to you to do. Verify who’s contacting you with trusted people and authority.
Official information about Pensions and URS will come from our District Benefit Specialist or from @urs.org.
If you suspect any fraudulent emails please report them to us at SPAM@provo.edu.
To learn more about how to protect yourself against phishing please watch this video on youtube.
