You are invited to apply to the 2021-2022 8×8 Mathematics Teacher Leader Project using this Google Form by August 30th.

The project investigates the 8 Mathematical Teaching Practices outlined in Principles to Actions: Ensuring Mathematical Success for All to support student use of the 8 Standards of Mathematical Practice.

Responding to the substitute shortages this year as well as rising COVID-19 counts, the project workshops will again be held virtually on Zoom. The project consists of two grade level tracks this year as outlined here:

K-6 Track

  • Thursday, September 9th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom (combined meeting)
  • Tuesday, November 9th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom
  • Tuesday, January 18th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom
  • Tuesday, March 22nd from from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom
  • Tuesday, May 11th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom (combined meeting)

6-12 Track

  • Thursday, September 9th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom (combined meeting)
  • Thursday, November 11th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom
  • Thursday, January 20th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom
  • Thursday, March 24th from from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom
  • Tuesday, May 11th from 4:30-7:20 on Zoom (combined meeting)

Participants will be paid $100 for each completed cycle. Each cycle will include a reading, reading quiz or discussion, attendance at the respective workshop, POD planning meeting, classroom implementation video, and feedback for a subset of peers’ implementation videos. Participants will again have the opportunity to earn 2 graduate credits for completion of the year.
