Join us for the first ever free district Author Con held at Provo High this Thursday, Sept. 22 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Student Commons and auditorium. Local authors and illustrators will be sharing their love of books to our students and their families along with make & take workshops, vendors and food trucks. An evening not to be missed. Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book characters to receive prizes and more.
Come chat with your favorite authors in a panel, snap a picture with your writer in a hosted photo opportunity, and get your hands on a signed book!
Here is a rundown of the authors you can meet:
Aspiring student-authors can anticipate workshops covering many enriching topics, from exploring the power of storytelling and why writing matters for the world at large to actionable writing techniques that lift characters and worlds from the printed page.
Events include origami bookmark making, design and creation, or crafting journals for either artistic or literary endeavors. The Provo City Library will also be available to sign up anyone who would like a library card. Lastly, the district has also scheduled a tasty assortment of food trucks to cater the event, including Waffle Love! Grab a bite and make a memory at one of our stalls!
