As part of the Provo City School District Improvement Plan, we have been working on implementing the following goals:
- Learning Targets
- Success Criteria aligned to the Learning Target
- Performance of Understanding aligned to the Learning Target and Success Criteria
- Feedback aligned to the Learning Targets that move learning forward by directly addressing Success Criteria and Performance of Understanding.
As we make plans for next year’s professional development work (PD), we are conducting a district-wide observation in 30% of our classrooms to review the degree to which the PD goals have been met across the district. This is not an evaluation of a teacher and no individual teacher information will be utilized. The observation will last from 20-30 minutes and is intended to be used in professional development planning for the district.
Classrooms have been randomly selected for this survey. Thank you for your participation. The observer will be interacting briefly with at least 3 students in your classroom. They will try not to disrupt your class and do not need to interview you. Please continue teaching as you normally do and carry on with the plans that you have in place for that particular part of your day. We know that not every moment in a school day is ideal for an observation, and we will account for that.
